Essay: 

Engraved by Jan van Troyen (1610 - 1666) as one of the plates for the Theatrum Pictorium, numbered 190.

The painting retains its original frame from the Duke of Marlborough's collection.

The monograph by Dr Philip Rylands lists only a copy of the original portrait by Palma Il Vecchio which was in a Private Collection in USA (no A.61).
