The Royal Naval College was one of Christopher Wren's masterpieces and built between 1696 and 1712. It encompasses another early architectural masterpiece, the Queen's House, this time by Inigo Jones and built between 1616-1635 for Anne of Denmark, the Queen of King James I.

The Royal Observatory was built on a site chosen by Wren and was comissioned by Charles II in 1675.

A painting by Knox of 'Regent's Park and Decimus Burton's Colosseum from Primrose Hill' was with Rafael Valls in 1991 (no.21 Recent Acquisitions).
